May 8, 2026: Traveling to Busan and Visiting the Yamok Church
Written by: SooAh Lee
On May 8th, 2026, the missionaries had a long day of travel to Busan. They got the opportunity to visit Yamok Church, one of the first places True Parents gathered with their members. This day was filled with opportunities to connect to the Unification Church’s roots and also reflect and bond with others on the long drive to Busan!
The day started bright and early, and the missionaries first drove to Yamok Church, a historical and monumental place for the Unification movement. When they arrived, a group of Japanese and Korean members greeted them warmly and introduced the site and its significance. The missionaries learned more about how True Parents laid a strong spiritual foundation at Yamok and were able to visit the holy site nearby.
After offering short devotions and prayer at the Yamok holy site, the Japanese and Korean members taught the missionaries some Korean traditional festival dances! Spirits were high as everyone danced along to the music and experienced the warmth of the community.
After the visit to Yamok Church, the missionaries had a long drive ahead of them as they were going to spend the next day of their pilgrimage in Busan. On the drive, they had the chance to reflect on their experiences so far. Junior members were also able to use the drive as an opportunity to ask Senior members about their experience being on a second year of Mission. They were all able to get closer to each other through these deeper conversations, but also through fun activities such as games and karaoke!
The day ended with a delicious dinner at a Korean restaurant. After a long day, NGM headed to rest for the next day of pilgrimage in Busan!
